The Education Committee is responsible for providing our
Kehilla
with a basis for learning Torah through regularly scheduled Shiurim,
sermons and special events. We view the learning of Torah as the proper
basis for all of our congregational activities and for the healthy
education of our children.
In order to observe this important Mitzvah, our Kehilla
offers an
assortment of Shiurim on various subjects throughout the week which
answer the needs of our congregation, including Shiurim in Tanach
(Bible), Gemara (Talmud), Halacha (Jewish Law), Jewish thought, Taharat
Hamishpacha (Family Purity), and current events. In addition, Shiurim
are scheduled for holidays and other special events.
We aim to reach out with our Torah learning to as many people
of
the Kehilla as possible. Therefore, our Shiurim are given in English
and in Hebrew. Of special note are our community's efforts in involving
our children in Torah and Tefillah. Children's Tefillot and
parent-child learning sessionsare held every Shabbat, with the guidance
of some of our dedicated Kehilla members.
Our goal is to continue to provide our Kehilla with the means
to
achieve spiritual growth both individually and together as a
congregation.
